St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, Tourism Development and Investment Company (TDIC), January 2010 to January 2011, $US490 m, Assistant Resident Engineer (Structures), Aurecon
Built for the Tourism Development and Investment Company (TDIC), the St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, Abu Dhabi is the flagship hospitality project on Saadiyat Island, Abu Dhabi. It is comprised of 380 luxury hotel rooms, 259 residential apartments and 33 luxury residential villas. The project also features a retail and entertainment component, a health and racquet club, a health spa and 1,600 structured parking bays. The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, Abu Dhabi is located adjacent to the Gary Player-designed 72-par Saadiyat Beach Golf Course and was constructed by the Habtoor Leighton Group through a joint venture with Murray & Roberts. Rodney was the assistant to the Senior Structural Engineer on site, assisting with site superintending.
Duties included amongst others;
- verification of structural shop drawings and resolving structural queries on site,
- providing structural advice to the other engineering disciplines,
- weekly site progress review and inspection with the project managers and
- presentation of pre-pour reinforcement to the Government engineer for approval.
- Project Administration of RFIs, NCRs was via web based software Aconex.
